Anti-Poem
Moi the Unwell: I felt I was coming to terms with her to some extent, trying to see her as the “right one”, for now. I was even able to put all those attractive women I saw at the theater last night aside to focus. That’s partially due to the fact that I have certain assumptions about the women on this island now, and I think my lifelong singleness has been mostly evidence that what I think of these islanders is correct.
They look beautiful often. They spend a lot of time on their appearances too but in reality, beyond the mask they’re little more than what meets the eye. I wanted to call them “monkeys” ’cause we’re all primates and they don’t embrace their humanness enough. They’re completely satisfied being monkey.
I guess I am as well but at least I realize there is more there. I can’t be proud of myself here. It’s sort of not even a choice for me or for people like me. It’s the curse of “consciousness”. I don’t see now how it serves us. I can’t think of it any other way.
At the end of it all we go to the same place, us and the primates, and the leaves that fall from the trees, the bacteria etcetera. Back to where we all came from.
Some women have no sense of touch. Some women have tinged taste buds.
I’m inspired by many beautiful things, but am I a beautiful thing? Plenty of beautiful things are fragile. Humans. Humans break.
