CIty of the Dead

It’s early evening. Zeke, Nate, and Harun go racing around the boarder of what’s left of the city since the zombie apocalypse. Harun is desperately leading the way on a journey for the best local shawarma, or at least according to Yelp. Three the hard way, trying to make it in a post-zombie era, and find that good quality “halal”.

The crowds are off the chain, everyone is in a rush, most looking for supplies, and contacting family members, arranging safe passage out of the city. Authorities say the outbreak could at anytime spill out of the old city into the boarder town, soon to be sectioned off by fifty foot walls to protect the new city. It’s believed the outbreak started at the Freedom Towers. No one knows for sure but there are quite a few links to the story on google.

“I think we would all rather be with our families, in the new city, where all the sensible people are” Nate rants.  “I’ve lost complete contact with them since the state of emergency. Who knows if they even made it?”

“Geese Nate, you and the frickin buzz kills.” Harun responds with playful indignation.

“Dude, seriously, let’s get the fuck out of here, I hate being this close to the boarder. We have less than three days now before they shut us down.” Nate tells Harun.

“Bro, bro, bro, I’m with you, but this place is like legendary, it has five stars on Yelp, and this could be the last time we get a chance to eat there.” Harun responds.

Zeke is listening to loud grindcore music you can hear from his headphones if you’re standing next to him. He hears little of the outside world and sees nothing beyond the wild curls dangling in his face but he follows along watching the two bickering back and forth, Harun with his sharp lined goatee mustache and a smile of troll-like enjoyment, Nate, with his worried eyes and rad cyberpunk style afro-fauxhawk waving his hands in the air.

The harsh grindcore switches to “I can’t” by Saori@destiny. Dramatic.

They pop into a dimly lit Moroccan joint, “I think this is it” Harun says while still looking at his phone’s google maps. He grabs a menu from the front counter. “Hadi’s Gyro Express, huh, shnazzy name” Zeke finally speaks.

“Hahaha baby, you’re getting some fucking meat and rice today bro” Harun shouts at Zeke. Zeke laughs.

“There are plenty of reasonable vegetarian options here, you got falafel, you got some other stuff.” Nate chimes in

Harun interjects singing “Vegetarian, give up your vows” like Jim Morrison in “Roadhouse Blues”.

“I’m good bro, vegetarian till the end.” Zeke smiles, or at least untila  zombie-apocalypse .

They get their food and sit down on the bare little benched/tables; pure simplicity in presentation with a little flower in a little jar of water in the center of the table. “Wow that really was express.” Zeke remarks.

Three the hard way get to work, Nate and Harun on gyro sandwiches while Zeke enjoys his eggplant turnovers, chopped tomatoes, lentils and saffron rice. No one says a word for a few minutes as they devour their meals, all that walking worked up an appetite.

Zeke finishes his meal first and then sits back in his seat engorged, “Where to next?” he asks.

“The night is young  boys…” Harun  starts before being interrupted by Nate “Dude, we’re going home, it’s all panic out here and I got the itis. Gonna pack up what’s left, hit the sack and see ya at the bus station in the morning.”

“Nathaan, we gotta enjoy this city while it’s still here man. Who knows where we’ll be in three days?” says Harun, to which Nate responds “Hopefully I’ll be in the new city, rebuilding my acting career. I miss my family man, and I hate all this bouncing around, I feel like a nomad, a new sector is shut down every few hours, there’s no work and it’s fuckin tense. Our time’s up.”

“I feel ya” Zeke agrees, “I mean I’m ready to head to the new city myself.” Then Zeke stares off to the side for a little daydream; the big bag of weed he had left back at the hotel room they evacuated last week during a zone shut down. It’s still there in the dresser.

“Come on Zeke, don’t tell me you’re with this wuss, weed’s illegal in the new city and very hard to find on the street. It’s like a full on nazi police state other side of that wall.”

Zeke doesn’t respond just bobs his head to the other side still in deep thought, glancing back and forth at his ideas. These are desperate choices one must make at times like these; weed, or safety, packing, or pot.

“I bet you we could get back into that hotel, pic up that grass, and party one last night like nineteen ninety-nine” Harun suggests.

Now Zeke is fantasizing a party back in the old hotel room, he’s smoking a phat fat joint blowing out clouds over female supermodels in Victoria secret lingerie. Partying was the plan to begin with though it didn’t work out.

“Ooo, what’s your secret?” Zeke says out loud still stuck in his fantasy.

“Huh?” Nate responds.

“Bro he’s fucking tripping out, he needs his weed” Harun says in a serious tone of alert.

“I need some weed.” Zeke says in his dreamy tired voice, still starring off in the distance.

“Dude seriously?” Nate responds.

“Uh, no, no, well yea, yea I am.” Zeke snapped out of it.

“Now we’re talking baby” Harun shouts as he reaches out and slaps Zeke five.

“Wait, what?” Nate responds.

“We’re going back to that hotel TONIGHT, and we grabbing that weed, and we partyin” Harun says with so much satisfaction in his voice.

“You guys are out of your minds, I’m not risking my life for that shit” Nate responds as he gets up from the table drops down some bills and heads outside.

Harun chases him out arguing “What good is the end of the world if you can’t have a little fun? You’re not living up to that faux-hawk”.

Zeke follows behind.

“Pff, yeah, fun in zombieland. Let’s all eat cotton candy and fuck zombie bitches” Nate responds sarcastically to which Harun replies “Zombiphilia’s an option” in a similar sarcastic tone but stoping in place as if to seriously consider the possibility.

“Listen man, I’m with you, we were boneheads to stick around, but we’re here now, we don’t know for sure we get in, or furthermore if your family even made it.” Zeke pleas.

Harun chimes in, “You know I been messaging the Process all week, no response. We need the Green light to get in anyways.” The Process being the only state committee with the power to admit new citizens. Without their okay you’re just a stateless refugee begging for a handout.

Nate takes a heavy exhale and pauses for a moment before responding “Okay. Shit man, you guys are all I’ve got out here. I think you’re insane, but your my family right now. Let’s do this, but first, I need to call a friend, she’ll help us get pass security.”

Harun grabs Nate by the face with passion and kisses him right on the forehead. Nate pulls back and says “What the fuck?” as he takes out his cell and makes his call.

It’s hard even getting that close to the boarder without getting shot by the fuzz, let alone passing the barriers. You needed to know someone or have a good bribe to pass through, and with no guarantee you’d get back on the other side. Nate’s buddy must have have a little cash on her. The black market’s strong these days. The guards were always happy to make a quick buck on the side.

Zeke, Harun and Nate head to the scene on foot, police tape and barricades outside, “Hey, no one’s allowed in the party without a pass.” One cop says.

Other-side of the barrier was a war zone, a fight between swat teams and looney gangs who actually side with zombies against the rest of civilized society. Some radical nut was able to invent a helmet capable of controlling low-level sentients so now they use zombies as attack dogs, and sometimes they use zombie attack dogs.

“We’re friends of Ana’s” Nate responds while waving at someone inside, “Ana” he calls out. He ducks below the tape and walks towards an attractive heavyset blonde lady filming with a camera guy inside.

“Hey fuck head” the officer exclaims as he goes for the gun in his holster.

“It’s cool they’re with me” the lady says to the officer.

The officer makes a surprised and slightly confused face as Harun and Zeke follow below the tape.

“Okay miss Bachman, you know the drill though, anyone who gets bit gets sent to quarantine, and anyone who tries to leave without passing inspection gets put down permanently.” The cop informs us.

Zeke is in deep thought starring at Ana, tapping his finger on his lip for a few seconds before it comes to him. “Ahh” he says out loud as the light goes on; he’s  recalling fragments of a conversation between Nate and Harun he “italotrap-musiced” through earlier about a friend who’s kind of a big deal in show biz these days.

“Hey Anarina, how you doing girl, perfect timing” Nate says.

“Hold up, you’re that hot zombie killer host of that reality show right? Ana the Zombie killer?” Harun asks.

“At your service and nice to meetchya, thanks for the compliment” the YouTube TV legend herself responds with a hardy chuckle extending her hand to Harun for a handshake. Instead he takes her hand and kisses it, then expresses “The pleasure is all mine”. The cheese practically seeps through his pores.

There are a lot of people passing through the boarder, some sit around camp fires, smoking and drinking, telling funny stories while laughing, others looting through garbage, sniffing drugs in the alleys, and shooting up.

“It really is a party in here” Zeke remarks.

“Welcome to armageddon, and you are?” She asks me.

“Oh sorry, where are my manners, I’m Zeke.”

“Hmm, Zeke, good name for TV. I’m Anarina.”

“Nice to meet you” Zeke responds with a gentle smirk.

“And this is Dan” Ana remarks motioning to the slightly overweight camera guy with his backwards hat and five o’clock shadow. “Hi Dan”, Zeke, Harun and Nate seem to say in unison. “Hey” he responds in his deep voice, not a lot of affect.

“You can just pretend he isn’t there.” Ana laughs. “So, you guys looking to do some zombie damage or what?” She says facing the camera to close her introduction. Then she goes into her book bag and takes out a wrench which she hands to Nate, a led pipe she hands to Harun and a crowbar which she gives Zeke.

“Let’s get right into it” she tells the three while pulling out a large machete then crouch jogging in the direction of Hotel Mojo. Zeke goes to follow first but Harun cuts him off poking his buttocks at Zeke motioning a wafting of metaphorical fart gas into his face. Nate rolls his eyes.

Hotel Mojo’s about a five minute walk from the boarder. Path is all clear and thanks to a lot of demolition there’s plenty of rubble but no real danger as long as you watch your step.  “Stay close” Ana insists as she enters the Art Deco styled hotel.

The crew of five, Zeke, Harun, Nate, Ana and Dan the cameraman enter the front lobby which is still lit up on an emergency circuit. The walls are fuzzy like with the same tacky pattern as the rug. They head straight to the elevator, and up to the third floor to the old room.

The lights are off on this floor. Dan switches the his camera flashlight on. Ana places a “shh” finger over her lips as she continues to lead, creeping down the dark hall. Harun’s face lights up as they recognize a body kneeled over another making that chumping sound right outside the room.

Ana signals the camera guy shut the light and switch to night vision. She slowly approaches the undead who stops chumping and starts an angry little gurgling growl like a dog protecting it’s meal. It turns around nice and slow to reveal it’s missing lips, rotted face and dead eyes.

Ana’s a surgeon with that machete, with one swoop she slices the top of his bald head clear off. The others just stood there and watched in amazement.

They head into the room. It’s a mess, dressers turned over and mattresses covered in blood, and worst of all there’s no weed to be found. “Shit, where is it?” Zeke whispers to himself as he desperately tears his way through the wreckage of fallen dressers.

There are clothes and storage things which Nate, Zeke and Harun have never seen. Nate grabs a cross his mom gave him which was still on the dresser next to the bed while Harun grabs a few porn DVDs he found stored in a little black bag in the closet.

“Ahhh” Zeke says with relief. “The weed survives.” He pulls the bag out from under a bed cushion.

“That was easy, ready to roll” Ana announces.

“Where are the papers?” Zeke responds.

“Haha, funny” she replies, “I meant let’s get out of here.” The crew agrees and they head back down to the lobby.

Before the door even opens they can hear some loud music on the other side, “Persuit” by Gesaffelstein. “Shit, the Renegades are here, arm yourselves” Ana exclaims as she lifts her machete.

Riley’s Renegades were the largest gang in the old city. When they came they always brought that blasting techno with them so you knew what was up. Their leader Riley had one of those mind-control helmets he used to direct up to thirty zombies at a time for carnage.

The door opens to a room of seven hungry zombies. Ana goes flying out like a banshee swinging at everything moving, zombies are getting sliced to pieces from the legs then up to the head. Nate freezes up while Harun squeezes his eyes shut and rushes forward swinging franticly with the lead pipe. Zeke charges out and goes for an undead’s ankle.

A zombie canine comes darting in from the hotel entrance and grabs Ana by the ankle. Thanks to the extra thick kevlar armor she wears under her clothes he isn’t able to get to her flesh. Zeke is the only one who notices and he fights his way through undead, slamming the pointy part of the crowbar into rotten heads and knocking off jaw bones.

Somehow Harun finds himself down the hall swinging at air. Nate finally snaps out of it and charges in to break the ice but near instantly finds himself under a big fat zombie on the carpet; he’s holding the damn thing back by the mouth with the wrench. Zeke slides over through legs of the only other zombie on the floor. He hops back up and precedes to smash the sharper part of the crowbar into it’s face until it’s caved in though with the last attack he lose his grip and the crowbar goes flying out a window.

Zeke proceeds to run over to Ana who can’t seem to get her balance together as the dog shakes his head around like mad. He jumps on the big dogs back and grabs it’s upper mouth with his bare hands. “Damn this thing is strong” Zeke remarks as the zombie dog continues shaking it’s head back and forth in a craze with Ana by the ankle and carrying Zeke on it’s back.

She drops her machete and is able to slide her ankle lose as Zeke uses his hands and feet to pry the mouth open. Zeke tears the beasts head in half and falls back onto the floor hard.

Ana grabs her Machete and runs over, “You okay?” she says reaching a hand out to pull Zeke up.

“I’m good yeah I’m cool”, he responds out of breath and dizzy/ready to faint.

“Help” Nate wines.

Ana turns to Nate and runs over to hack the big blob of a beast right in the center of the head. The machete gets stuck so she kicks off the things back to release her blade. The fat blob man stands up wobbly and turns to Ana to vomit this volatile spew. She hops out of the way as Harun comes running back  in screaming out of nowhere “I got you Ana” he runs right into the vomit managing only to turn his head not to get it in the mouth or eyes then freezing up before gaging some of that gyro back up on the rug.

The zombie collapses between the four of them as they all take a deep breath now that the coast is clear. Ana smiles, good work boys then turns back to her cameraman who’s laying down in the elevator holding the doors open while filming, “Got all that Dan?” Dan gives the thumbs up and she smiles back that golden TV smile with a responsive thumbs up.

Riley’s Renegades come busting through the door with a hard shove; fifteen deep, all men and with bigger frames than anyone in the group.

“Riley you shit bag, you almost killed us” Ana yells.

Riley is a tall older man in his mid-forties. He has the psychic helmet which is reminiscent of those guardian helmets they give kids to protect their heads during seizures. He’s wearing a little a black duster, ripped jeans and black glasses like he’s the terminator except he looks more like Kevin Spacey than Arnold.

“This is Renegades territory bitch, I’m tired of you running up in our zone unannounced going through our shit.” he responds as he pumps the shotgun.

Harun stands up and turns around to confront them but as soon as he sees the size of the group armed with chains, knives and baseball bats, and Riley’s shotgun his prepared confrontation comes out much softer then he initially intended, “Oh, hello sir, we just came through to grab some stuff of ours, we mean no disrespect.” in an unusually high apologetic tone.

“No stuff of yours in Renegades territory, all the stuff here belongs to us, so why don’t you hand it over.” Riley responds

Zeke realizes an itching in his fingers and looks down to see them all chomped up by the zombie dog. “Shit” he says softly to himself. He got zombie drool all over his cuts.

“Okay, everyone chill out, we can negotiate here. I have money, we’ll buy their stuff and be on our way.” Ana bargains but Riley isn’t amused.

“You, you and you” Riley shouts at Zeke, Nate and Dan, “Get up and get on that wall, all ah ya, on the wall!”

Ana nods and they all line up on the wall next to the elevator.

Riley walks up slowly looking them all in the eye while everyone stays silent. Then he speaks again, “Listen, you kids don’t know any better, leave what you took, and get out of here, and don’t let me see you again.”

Harun takes a moment and looks at Ana with wide scared eyes, then at Nate who looks back at him with the same terrified look, then they both look at Ana.

“Listen Nate, it’s my screwup, go on, I’ll be okay. Go, get out of here.” she assures them.

Zeke’s eyes are drooping and his tan skin is turning pale. He doesn’t hear any of this as he lightly bobs back and forth while staring off into the distance. All of the Renegades before him stare back angrily, but also confused about the stare he’s giving them.

Zeke is in a jungle in his mind, Arthur Lyman’s “Quiet Village”  is playing the background music, no headphones required; suddenly a beautiful ballerina comes spinning out into the spotlight between the trees for a dance. It looks like Ana to him. He steps out and they join hands; suddenly he’s wearing a suit, spinning her around only to catch her as she falls to his right side for the kiss.

“Hey, Curly” Riley shouts into Zeke’s face snapping him out of the daydream.

“Auuggh” he gurgles as he reaches up to grab his mouth leaning forward. Riley steps aside with his eyebrow raised high watching Zeke collapse onto hands and knees a foot away from the Renegades radio, still playing the techno mixtape but on lower volume.

“Zeke” Harun calls out as he and Nate run over to help up their friend who just then vomits a greenish mucus stopping them both in their tracks.

“The kid’s fucking infected” Riley shouts. Nate and Harun both step back from Zeke holding their hands up to avoid him catching a limb.

“Zeke” Nate says softly while Riley has his left hand up to the helmet desperately focusing on getting into Zeke’s head; Zeke just growls and shakes.

“Oh no” Ana says as she watches with her back still up against the wall.

Riley finally lets up and opens his eyes. “I can’t get a hold of him” he announces. Nate, Harun, Ana and even Dan watch nervously as they wait for the verdict.

“Well, only other option I guess” Riley states as he lowers the barrel to  the back of Zekes head.

“You cant” Ana cries out taking a step forward and being ambushed by Riley’s thugs.

“That’s our friend” Harun shouts as a Renegade step over and smacks Harun in the stomach with a club knocking him down to one knee. Nate goes to grab the thug but two other Renegades grab him first.

Riley slightly turns his head back directing his Renegades “Would ya remind these punks about my mercy”

“No” Ana grunts as she struggles hard in attempt to break out of the mens grips. More Renegades run over and punch Dan knocking him down with one, then they continue to stomp him out as the three holding Ana lift her up and carry her to the waiting room couch tossing her down and starting to rip her shirt off and copping feels as she begins to kick scream and scratch them back.

One of the Renegades with brass knuckles turns to Nate and punches him three times in the stomach as the other two hold him in place. Afterwards  they throw him down beside Harun.

“It’s for your own good. This is sort of humanitarian really.” Riley reasons to himself as he stands there with the gun aimed steadily at Zekes head. Zeke reaches out and slams his hand on the radio switching from the tape mix to FM, “Decapitation Fornication” by the deathcore band Infant Annihilator and at blasting volume; then, in the split second it takes Riley to pull the trigger Zeke swiftly raises up and grabs the gun with his left hand launching himself at Riley and taking  and taking a nice juicy chump out of Riley’s neck.

Riley falls onto his back with Zeke on top. He’s in shock just starring at the growling Zeke Zombie’s gray eyes. Zeke raises his hand like a claw and comes down hard battering Riley’s face in. A few of Riley’s boys who notice run over to help and get it even worse; bites to the face, and smashed to the neck with the shotgun Zeke continues to wield in the left hand with superhuman strength.

Meanwhile Ana frees her self from the three renegades, kicking one to the ground kneeing another in the nose; they’re both still down. The other she hits with a spinning back kick which knocks him out when he smacks up against the wall behind him.

The other Renegades are focused on Zeke now turning from Dan, Harun and Nate to focus on Zeke.

Zeke gauges one’s eyes out, another manages to whip in with the chain but that just makes Zeke more angry. He gets a hold of that chain and tosses the guy out another window. A bald renegade goes for the double leg and he’s easily able to sweep Zekes light body though as he’s taking Zeke down, Zeke fires back up to take out another renegade.

Harun and Nate got their whits back but they just sit back and watch in amazement as there old buddy takes these guys apart.

Ana is about to run over with her machete then notices Zeke’s got it covered.

They all watch in shock until it’s all done. Ana grabs the radio and shuts off the loud ruckus. Zeke turns to them still growling and covered in blood from head to toe.

“Holy shit bro, Zeke went rabid.” Harun says.

“Everybody just stay still and calm” Ana commands.

“Okay” Dan mumbles from a broken jaw still laying on the floor.

“I’ve heard about this before but never seen it in person. Some zombies change while maintaining their soul. Zeke, are you still there?” Ana asks.

Zeke starts breathing slower and his scowl falls to frown. He tries to speak but the words just barely mumble out, “I’m Zoombie?”

“He can speak?” Nate asks.

“Dude, you’re a freaking super zombie, this is wild” Harun excitedly exclaims.

“Oh no, how are we going to get out of here now? They’ll never let him through the boarder looking like that.” Nate comments.

“I’am Zombie” Zeke mumbles again as he collapses to his knees with an expression of confusion and disappointment on his face.

“I’m gonna try and get in contact with my people in the new city, maybe I can work something out?” Ana says unsurely as she takes out her phone makes a call.

A howling alarm goes off. “Huh?” Nate reacts, “Evacuation?” he wonders out loud.

“Shit” Ana exclaims as a loud automated voice comes over loud speaker from outside, “Everyone please evacuate to nearby shelters, bombing will commence in sixty seconds”

“They’re bombing us” Nate shouts hysterically.

“Fuck where are we going?” Harun asks.

Zeke growls.

“It’s a code red, the closest shelter is at least ten minutes from here, and it’s doubtful they’ll have the space.”

Harun drops to his knees “Oh God, I’m sorry for stealing this porn, and setting Nate’s phone wallpaper to pioctures of large erect penises.”

“Bro seriously?” Nate say s as he checks his cell.

“And for not telling Nate The Process admitted him for citizenship to the new city.” Harun finishes. Everyone stares at Nate to see what he’s gonna do.

“You what?” Nate responds with his fists clenched ready to pounce.

“Nate, chill” Zeke tries to get out but it sounds like a bunch of mumbles. Nate launches himself at Harun lands a punch on Harun’s cheek as Harun tries to explain, “I’m sorry bro…”

“Guy’s no” Ana calls out as she heads to them and there’s a loud boom and the lights go out. Booms continue as the whole building seems to shake and crumble down.

The bombing goes on for fifteen minutes until the old city and the boarder towns are quiet, and they stay that way until early morning when the stateless survivors begin to appear searching for their friends, as dust clouds the air. A single zombie hand bursts from the rubble wide open. It’s Zeke. He crawls out on his own, covered in soot.

As he slowly gets his bearings back he looks up to the light in the sky but it’s too misty to see the sun. He howls out an undead howl. He looks down the hill to see Ana kneeling beside Dan’s crushed body. When he approaches he can tell she’s been crying but her face is plain and still now covered in leaky dirty stains.

“Ana” Zeke says. Ana turns back to Zeke, “He was a good man” she says. Zeke makes a sad face. Then Zeke’s eyes light up with alert as he turns and starts calling for Nate and Harun.

“Heelp” Zeke hears Haruns voice call off from another area in the mountain of rubble. He stiff legs his way there to find Harun attempting to lift a telephone pole from Nate’s torso. Zeke get s down quick to lift, and with a little strait he’s able to lift the pole allowing Harun to pull Nate’s body out of the way.

“Oh no bro, I’m so sorry” Harun cries, “I’m so sorry man, I just, you guys are my only family” he says as he turns and looks up at Zeke who stands their bloody drool dripping from his mouth as he stares back with frowning eyes. All his cuts and scratches have healed except for the scratches on his fingers from the zombie dog, zombie benefits.

Then Nate pops up coughing, “What the hell” he moans as Harun turns to him, “Nate” he exclaims in excitement, I thought I lost you. They hug.

“I’m sorry bro, I know I fucked up your life. The letter came few days ago, I didn’t want us to fall apart” he tells Nate. Nate takes a deep breath and then responds as he staggers up to his feet with Zeke and Harun’s help, “I mean, I still wanna ring your neck, but, shit man, you’re my brother” Nate says and he hugs Harun and Zeke hops in and  starts a zombie whimper, hugging them both back until Harun shrugs him off “What the fuck  bro, you’re drolling on me.”

“Yeah you’re gonna have to get use to that” Ana interjects. “He’s a zombie now, hope you’re not a vegetarian” she continues.

Harun stumbles from the group towards Ana “Christ, Ana, I’ve been looking all over for you worried sick.” he informs. Ana stares back with a suspicious look, Harun ignores as usual so caught up in his own world, “So listen, I know you’re in show biz and everything, you must get crazy suiters, hey I get it” he says pointing back at himself.

Zeke looks on angry eyed at his rather extroverted buddy making an ass out of himself, then at Ana to see where this goes as Harun continues “But let’s be honest with ourselves, you’re with us now, we just survived a bombing together. You’re gonna need a strong man like myself to take care of you from here…”

“No thanks” she interjects.

“Ugh” Zeke zombie grunts with his droopy smirk.

“I’m not into men” Ana continues, to which Zeke’s happy droop turns to a surprised and disappointed one.

Ana rolls her eyes.

“What do we do now?” Nate asks.

“I got friends in official positions, they can work something out for us.” Ana replies as she pulls out her cell, “Follow me.”

Nate, Harun and Zeke all follow along and somehow Zeke steps on a sharp bent pole with goes through his foot, he doesn’t flinch but makes a little grunt drooling zombie saliva as he pulls his foot out like it was only a splinter. “You know if they got any good sushi places in the new city? I could really go for some sushi” Harun says as they walk off into the smoke.
