Revolution Is a Love Story: Uther Armories and the 3rd Deep

Welcome back to the wonderful world of the Multiverse War Chronicles…..

I’m very excited to announce the arrival of Uther Armories and the Third Deep! My second novel, a considerable improvement in just about every aspect of writing from the first.

I’ve been selling the series as, surreal, philosophical, cyberpunk-infused, science fantasy, but at it’s heart, Uther Armories is truly a romance of revolution. In Desert 2 Calugero was sent into space by a celestial to escape the violence and chaos of Terra, which took the lives of most of his family. In Uther Armories and the 3rd Deep Calugero returns, crashing down to Terra to witness the birth of an uprising against those who claimed the lives of his family. As the philosopher and critical theorist Slavoj Zizek would say, one must radically fall into the world in order to transcend it, why in English we “fall in love“, and so the romance unfolds.

The rebels, passionate and brave, fight for those they love, and the love that brings them together, the power of the collective. They are an assorted mixture of S’Ogni cultists, outlaws and outsiders, of various genders, colors and creeds, victims of the system, interconnected. They are unified not only by circumstance, but also by the shared distain they have for the organization that oppresses them all, and they’re ready to go all the way where the waves take them.

It is amongst the outsiders where our story is centered, in two separate periods which unfold simultaneously. Gray, a schizophrenic cowboy wandering around following the voice in his head, discovers #7, a cyborg journalist/vigilante. Together they befriend Ruffles, a stoner mystic mutant lost in a dream world he’s fabricated with his own mind. The three unlikely heroes/loners find adventure and self-exploration via the quest for the magic microchip that might save the rebellion.

Meanwhile, in the present time, Calugero first encounters the magnificent rebel leader Sophia Alexandria, a genius telepath and former UTR elite, who like Calugero was orphaned by the murder of her father at the hands of those in power. Taking Calugero under her wing on the path of uprising, in the midst of third eye psychic discourse, a love story unfolds, sure to climax in the ecstasy of insurrection.

The desert, as always, land of the “drives“, where all that runs in excess of the Polis’ reside. It is in the desert where the surplus created by capitalism’s excess sits and rots, the empty abandoned products that exist beyond the call of demand, an overflow of desire. Reality is never reality absent “surreality” and in revolt our dreams spill over. We are unsure where this boat leads, but we are going with all our revolutionary impulses to their end.
